Emergency Management Student

Key Responsibilities Include:

Parkland County has a temporary, full-time Emergency Management Student position available within the Fire Services Department from May 1 to August 30, 2019. Reporting to the Deputy Fire Chief – Strategic Services and Emergency Management, this position will perform a variety of duties related to the administration of Emergency Management. Specific duties include updating the Municipal Emergency Plan (MEP) and contact lists, developing preplans for response and recovery, taking inventory and updating supplies in the Emergency Operations Centre, and updating and expanding the emergency management web resources including emergency preparedness and fire prevention material.

This position would be based out of the Acheson Fire Station, 11350 – 274 St Acheson, AB

Requirements:

Grade 12 Diploma supplemented by current enrolment in a post-secondary Emergency Management, Communications, or related program.

General computer proficiency, including competency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new software.

Prior experience working in an office environment is preferred.

Experience with updating and maintaining web or social media content would be considered an asset.
