We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated person to join our safety-oriented team as a District Maintenance Foreman. You are a "people person" who enjoys managing people through earning their respect.
You will prioritize, coordinate, and supervise a team of operators to support the safe and cost-effective delivery of road maintenance in Special Areas No. 2.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Key Duties will include:
Supervision of all road maintenance, repair and snow removal on gravel and surfaced roads in a large rural municipality.
Supervise employees in the maintenance and operation of district shop, equipment, and yard, providing advice regarding local road infrastructure and assisting with developing annual work plans.
Observes all regulations and procedures that relate to health and safety for self, direct reports, and other employees. Reports all Occupational Health and Safety related injuries or property in support of the Special Areas Board's safety program; thoroughly investigate accidents.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED) – combination of experience/education will be considered
3 years of road maintenance and/or construction supervisory experience preferred
Class 5 Drivers’ Licence
Working knowledge of MS Suite, and competent ability in using software such as GIS and Automatic Vehicle Locating (AVL) systems
Physical capabilities to perform job duties - required lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
Working knowledge in the care and use of tools and equipment common to these positions
Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact and discretion and use good judgement
Preference may be given to candidates possessing:
Class 3 AB Drivers Licence – Air Endorsement
This is a designated safety sensitive position and mandatory pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on all newly hired employees

Salary Range: • Annual Salary at $70,018 - $85,593 depending upon experience and education
Position Type: Permanent Full Time Position • 8-hour workday (Monday through Friday) – Overtime may be required
