Digital Communications Assistant

We are seeking a talented Digital Communications Assistant to join our Communications team. This permanent part-time position will play a key role in website maintenance, social media management, content strategy, and advertising.

20 – 25/hour work week (Monday through Friday) – Hours may increase as projects and budget allow

Flexible working arrangements, including a blend of in-office and remote working, will be considered

Key Responsibilities Include:

Key Duties will include:

Prepare and post advertisements, communication materials, and social media content consistent with brand standards

Manage all Special Areas social channels, with a focus on responsive, positive, and creative content

Manage the Special Areas Board website, including drafting content and providing recommendations for improvements

Work closely with internal stakeholders to align digital communications with corporate priorities and communications plans

Requirements:

Post-secondary training in Marketing, Business, or Communications or a related field would be an asset

2-5 years of marketing and/or communications experience (combination of education and experience will be considered)

Experience with strategic planning and implementation with key digital channels and systems (website CMSs (WordPress), social media management tools (Hootsuite) and native social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

First rate communication skills: written and verbal skills, organization abilities and proven attention to detail with a high degree of initiative. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment

Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines

Experience with digital design programs, include Adobe Creative Cloud would be an asset

A blend of in-office and remote working will be considered
