Education/Training/Skills Required
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a related field such as; Land Use Planning, geography, or related field, desired.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum two years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in Municipal Government is an asset.
- Knowledge of Part 17 of the Municipal Government Act and familiarity with the interpretation and application of land use bylaws.
- Knowledge of land development and building processes and activities.
- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and work independently to successfully complete assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, graphically and in writing with all stakeholders.
- Good time management and organization skills.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding department and municipal matters.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS would be a definite asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Incident Command System (ICS) training must be completed within six (6) months of employment.
Lethbridge County offers a competitive compensation package and an engaging work environment. This position works a 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30 with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
