- Possesses a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience working alongside and within a municipal volunteer fire service;
- ICS 300 (required), 400 and asset;
- First Aid and HCP CPR training certification;
- NFPA Firefighter 1001 Level 1 & 2;
- NFPA 1002 Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications;
- NFPA 1021 Company Officer Level 1;
- NFPA 1041 Level 2 Fire Service Instructor;
- NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations;
- Basic Emergency Management Course;
- Director of Emergency Management Course;
- Valid Class 3 Alberta Driver’s License with ‘Q’ (Air Brake) endorsement;
- The ability and interest to achieve additional certifications and qualifications as required;
- Residency within 10 kilometers of the MD of Taber Administration Office is a permanent job requirement;
- Physically capable of firefighting service, and able to work in all weather conditions.
Working knowledge of the Alberta Fire Codes, Alberta Building Code, Alberta Safety Codes Act, and the Forrest and Prairie Protection Act.
