Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has Temporary, Full-time positions available in the Engineering Services Department for Data Collectors (Survey Assistants) from May to August of 2021. These positions are appropriate for post-secondary students looking for engineering related experience. You will be responsible for accurately collecting roadway inventory, roadway surface condition data then summarizing field data into an asset management database utilizing mobile hardware. You will be required to work alone on Parkland County’s rural roads with minimal supervision.
Data Collectors are responsible for collecting roadway data, database entry, and providing assistance to the department in the planning process regarding review and revisions of asset management reference material. The supervisor may expand duties to include GPS data collection, water, wastewater and storm water facility data collection and inspections, traffic counts, sidewalk assessments, construction project support in the field and in the office and various engineering related duties. You must adhere to all safety measures outlined in related policies while involved with any aspect of the duties required to ensure work is performed in a safe environment.
Rate of Pay: $24.35 per hour.
Hours of Work: 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week.
This position is covered by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local Union No. 955 Collective Agreement.
