Customer Service Summer Student

Key Responsibilities Include:

Parkland County has a temporary, full-time Customer Service Summer Student position available within the Strategic Services department working from approximately May 1 to August 25, 2023. Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Customer Service, the Customer Service Summer Student will work with a team of Customer Service Representatives to provide prompt and courteous service as a first point of contact to the public on behalf of Parkland County. This position will respond to various customer inquiries, complaints, and transactions including the processing of payments and receivables. This position requires excellent customer service and de-escalation skills along with the ability to effectively multi-task and problem solve in a fast paced, customer-centric environment.

The total rewards package for this position includes:

An hourly rate of pay of $22.74 per hour, working 7 hours/day; 35 hours/week.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate would have the following:

High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by enrollment in a post-secondary program.

Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience, along with the proven ability to deal with the public in a positive manner is required.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills along with the ability to share in a team environment.

Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn and adapt to new programs quickly.

Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License. A current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
