Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a temporary, full-time position available within the Planning & Development Services Department for a Current Planner. Reporting to the Manager, Current Planning, this position would start at the end of November and work until approximately February 25, 2022. The Current Planner works as part of a team of Planners and Technicians focused on current planning applications. This is a mid-level professional planning position that requires a high degree of professional responsibility in the processing of subdivisions and statutory amendments as well as the development and implementation of planning strategies, statutory documents, and municipal policy. The Current Planner primarily works independently and makes submissions to Council, the Subdivision Authority, Appeal Boards and other affected public and private agencies. This position requires a thorough knowledge of related Acts and Regulations and the planning process in Alberta and is expected to meet a minimum level of performance based on the Code of Professional Conduct in the Alberta Professional Planners Regulation and Canadian Institute of Planners Minimum Standards for Code of Professional Conduct.
