Sturgeon County is looking for a dynamic Corporate Planning Analyst to support the delivery of strategic management services across our municipal organization. Key Responsibilities Include:

Program and Service Catalogue Advancement

Facilitate on-going expansion and maintenance of Sturgeon County’s Corporate Service Catalogue.

Advance the development of a corporate service level inventory.

Collaborate and build relationships with all levels of County employees to help deliver service-centric corporate planning activities.

Corporate Reporting Supports

Develop content and document creation related to Sturgeon County’s corporate planning reporting efforts, includes working with managers and others across the organization to gather inputs and assist in building corporate narrative.

Prepare and deliver professional presentations and documents that may be accessed by the County’s management and leadership team, Council, external committees, etc.

Process and Service Modernization

Contribute to the modernization of departmental processes, guiding documents, and internal service offerings.

Assist the Manager of Corporate Planning and Intergovernmental Services with tasks and special projects, as required.

Serve as a champion for corporate planning and advance a continuous improvement mindset, while contributing to a positive work environment and culture.

Strategic Framework and Policy Supports

Offer corporate planning expertise to inform strategic decision-making impacting Sturgeon County’s short and long-term objectives for new growth and development.

Support Sturgeon County’s Senior Corporate Planning Advisor in executing the development and implementation of the organization’s full suite of strategic policies, including work within the corporate Strategic Plan, Corporate Business Plan, Department Business Plans, etc.

Budget Planning Process Supports and Integration

Support Sturgeon County’s Senior Corporate Planning Advisor in executing the development and implementation of strategic corporate process, including work within the municipal budget cycle through service enhancement requests and business case development work.

Conduct research and analysis.

Conduct best practice research and undertake analysis to provide recommendations supporting corporate strategy (might include, for example, current state assessments and environmental scanning).

Engage in emergent strategic analysis as part of the Corporate Planning Team to address new risks or opportunities.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration with a minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience. Equivalent level experience and/or designations and proven aptitude will also be considered.

Professional certification in strategic management or project management considered an asset.

Knowledge and experience working in municipal government preferred.

Proven writing skills and ability to create effective documents and presentations.

Thorough knowledge of corporate planning concepts, such as strategic planning, corporate business planning, performance management, key performance indicators, service levels, etc.

Solid political acumen and sound judgment with the ability to recognize, anticipate and raise issues that could have a significant impact on the community and/or the organization.

Well-developed project and time management skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to collaborate effectively with employees of all levels across the organization is also required.

Ability to navigate through a wide variety of organizational context and ability to analyze and interpret financial, operational, and business environment information.

Ability to perform the duties of this position remotely, with some office environment and municipal travel required from time-to-time.
