We are looking for a working level foreman who is knowledgeable, safety-conscious, and committed to serving the needs of our citizens through the delivery of our road maintenance, rehabilitation and construction programs. This is a regular full-time position, working 40 hours per week. We will require overtime and on-call availability. Our focus is our public.
Key Responsibilities Include:
We need: A person with a thorough knowledge of road base construction, who can think critically, is able to construct roads to acceptable engineering standards, is safety-conscious, will monitor the work of our subcontractors, and will provide effective leadership and training to our seasonal staff. Training our seasonal staff requires that you are also knowledgeable in operating construction vehicles and equipment. More than the ‘know-how’ skills, we place a high standard for people-skills: the ability to train, mentor and coach others.
Experience in road maintenance/construction asphalt paving/concrete
Experience as an equipment operator
Prior supervisory experience
Class 5 Alberta Drivers’ License [Class 3 or Class 1 is an asset]
Physically fit, lift/carry moderate to heavy objects
Good motor coordination/manual dexterity skills
Proficient computer literacy skills.
Great attitude and willingness to adapt to changing priorities
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Adaptive, cooperative and self-initiative abilities
Current First Aid/CPR Certificate.
Rate of pay will be commensurate with certification and experience, starting at $34.82/hr.
