Position Summary:
The Community Peace Officer is responsible for protecting the County’s infrastructure, the people using the infrastructure, including the property and people served by the County’s infrastructure, by enforcing applicable municipal, provincial, and federal statutes, as authorized, and through established policies and procedures.
As a member of Wheatland County Protective Services, the Community Peace Officer will work in tandem as a supplemental law enforcement agent within the provincial jurisdiction of Alberta, as authorized within the individual Officer’s provincial appointments.
Working Conditions:
- Working hours are 7.5 hours / day, five days per week with shifts altering from weekday to weekend; times may vary depending on operational and / or emergent situations
- Occasional overtime may be required including building alarm call-outs and administrative duties
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds / 36 kg
