Key Responsibilities Include:
Reporting to the Manager, Community Development, this position is responsible for overseeing event expenditures of up to $100,000 for the development, implementation and coordination of 8 – 12 signature community events hosted annually by the City of Leduc, including Canada Day, Rock the Rails, and the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet. The Community Development Coordinator – Events acts as a liaison between various City departments and community stakeholders in the coordination and implementation of these events and other departmental activities, and provided on-site direction to event staff, partners and volunteers.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will preferably have a University degree, or a combination of a post-secondary education, with a minimum of three years’ experience in events management, with a background in community development. Municipal experience is highly desirable. Have the ability to work independently on several projects simultaneously and ability and willingness to work flexible hours. Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers’ Licence. The successful candidate must provide a current criminal record check as part of the hiring process.
