Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a casual position available within the Community Services Department for a Communications Advisor, working from approximately June to late August, 2022 with the possibility of extension. Under the direction of the Manager, Communications, the Communications Advisor will act as a communications resource responsible for handling emergency communications, with a focus on any potential flair up of the Range Road (RR) 63 fire. In the event the fire does not flair up (requiring additional communications resources), the position will be primarily responsible for keeping the community informed. This will include supporting recovery efforts and continuing to work on communications materials to strengthen future fire responses. The positions responsibilities will include regularly updating and responding to residents on conditions of the RR63 fire on a frequent basis using Facebook, Twitter, Parkland County website updates (including updated fire maps), community meetings, dedicated email inbox, phone line, door-to-door flyers, FireSmart workshops, media releases and video communications.
