Operate motor scraper and dozer on road construction projects and have the ability to use other heavy equipment as trained and required.
Conduct daily inspections and provide basic daily maintenance and servicing of equipment.
Be a contributor and a key staff member in the ongoing support of the Lethbridge County’s Safety Program.
Complete daily safety documentation and comply with County policies/ procedures.
Perform overtime as required to accomplish tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
Various other related duties as assigned.
Previous experience operating a motor scraper and dozer for road construction and various construction projects.
Knowledge of survey and field applications regarding work stakes, baseline, slopes, etc. would be an asset.
Be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Have a Class 5 Driver’s License. Air brake (Q) endorsement and/or a higher license class is considered an asset. A copy of driver’s license abstract is mandatory yearly as per County policy.
Grade 12 High School Education or GED or equivalent work- related experience.
Ability to lift heavy items up to 50kg occasionally as required.
Must have good planning and organizational skills.
This position may be subject to field evaluations to determine abilities in operating specified equipment.
Position is subject to overtime as required by the department to accomplish tasks in an efficient and timely fashion.

Ability to communicate effective verbally and in writing.
Ability to use technology and computer literate.
This position will work 9-hour days Monday through Thursday (7am-4:30pm) and 8 hours on Friday (7am-3:30pm) out of the Picture Butte Shop or other suitable locations inside the County as required. Seasonal hours may change as per CUPE agreement.
