Lethbridge Airport is looking to hire 2 casual term employees to support airport operations. The ideal candidates will be available September 1 through the winter until early spring. At this point the employee will be laid off, with the opportunity for recall in September 2019.
Airport Airfield Equipment Operator Trainee I (Casual)

Pay Class: Class 3 – CUPE Local 2800 Contract ($28.40-$30.19)
Reporting to the Airport Operations Manager this casual position with the potential to become seasonal, will support the Lethbridge Airport with airfield operations. Primary duties include: maintaining all airport surfaces including runways, taxiways, aprons & roadways, snow removal, ice control and grounds maintenance to ensure effective operation of the Lethbridge Airport’s surface infrastructure.
Knowledge, skills and abilities include: a thorough knowledge of airport surface and facility maintenance methods and procedures such as snow and ice control and proficiency in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment. The successful incumbent must have a Grade 12 Diploma and a valid Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brakes Endorsement and Standard First Aid. A satisfactory criminal record check is a requirement for this position.
Within 2 months from the start date the incumbent must obtain: Restricted Area Identification Clearance, a restricted radio operator’s license, and airside vehicle operator’s permit.
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are normally obtained through the completion of a two-year Airport Equipment Operator Training Program. Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience will be considered.
This position is subject to overtime in order to accomplish tasks in an efficient and timely manner in addition to monthly on call requirements.
This position will work at the Lethbridge Airport.
