The County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 is currently seeking applications to fill a full-time permanent Bylaw Enforcement/Animal Control Officer.
The successful individual will report to the Development Officer and will be responsible for investigating violations of the County Land Use Bylaw, Unsightly Premises Bylaw, Dog Control Bylaw and other associated Bylaws.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for inspection and enforcement of the County of Wetaskiwin Bylaws.
Act as Animal Control by responding to complaints, including pick-up and delivery of stray dogs to the pound facility.
Provide advice and assistance to the public, relative to specific Bylaw questions.
Promote community awareness of all applicable Bylaws.
Prepare documentation for processing charges, offense tickets, court injunctions, and other duties associated with the enforcement of designated Bylaws.
An individual with a related post-secondary diploma or degree, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
Possess a valid driver's license and provide a current criminal record check.
Have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Experience in conflict resolution would be an asset.
An individual with an understanding of municipal government.
