Summary

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for overseeing the administration, customization, and optimization of software applications to support the organization’s business processes. This role acts as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that business needs are translated into effective software solutions. The Business Systems Analyst contributes to the efficiency and productivity of the organization by identifying opportunities for process improvements, providing training, and ensuring effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

Software Application Oversight

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements related to Microsoft software solutions.
  • Customize and integrate Microsoft software applications to meet specific business requirements, leveraging tools like Power Platform and custom development.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft software platforms, including SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Dynamics GP, Power Platform, and Office 365.
  • Lead and/or participate in software development projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within software applications to improve efficiency and productivity.

Training and Support

  • Provide comprehensive training sessions to users on software applications.
  • Offer ongoing support to ensure users can effectively utilize applications to enhance their workloads.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with actionable insights and facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including user manuals, training materials, and project documentation.
  • Generate reports to track project progress and key performance indicators.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Facilitate communication among project team members, stakeholders, and vendors using meetings, emails, and other communication channels.
  • Ensure all parties are informed of project progress, changes, and decisions.
  • Assist in managing changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, including documenting change requests, assessing impacts, and obtaining stakeholder approvals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in administering and customizing Microsoft platforms such as SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Dynamics GP, Power Platform, and Office 365.
  • Proficient in designing, developing, and maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, including creating relationships, calculated columns, and measures using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
  • Experience in connecting Power BI to various data sources, such as SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud-based services.
  • Experience with process automation and optimization using tools like Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Strong project management skills, including documentation, change management, and status reporting.
  • Excellent training and user support skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create comprehensive documentation.
  • 5+ years of experience in business systems analysis, application management, or a similar role.
