You are an ideal candidate if you have the following:
- High School diploma
- Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance or building mechanical, some experience with aquatic facility and pool systems
- Basic computer skills are required
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety programs, particularly with the handling of hazardous materials
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team and other departments
- Independent decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Must be able and willing to work flexible shifts, evenings, weekends and overtime as required
- Must be able and willing to provide coverage in an on-call rotation
- Must be willing to provide a current Criminal Records Check at own expense
- Must be willing to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Level Security Clearance (applied for by the City)
- Must be fully immunized against COVID-19 and be willing to provide proof of immunization, or provide written approved exemption on the basis of a protected ground under the AB Human Rights Act
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Coordinating projects
- Plumbing or pipefitting
- Working in a municipal environment
Certifications:
- AARFP Pool Operator Level 2 (or equivalent) - applicants without this certification are encouraged to apply but must be willing and able to attain this certification
- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Class 5 Drivers License (with less than 6 demerits)
The following are considered an asset:
- AARFP Building Maintenance Level 2
- Plumbing or pipefitting Journeyman Certification
- Confined Space Entry
- Aerial Work Platforms Operator Ticket
- Fall Arrest & Restraint Certification
