Daily Operations
- Assign and direct daily operations of the Aquatic area, in accordance with the Aquatic Supervisor
- Ensure adherence to established protocols and procedures for efficient and safe operation
- Monitor performance and address any issues that arise promptly
Mechanical Equipment Operation
- Demonstrate expert operational proficiency in mechanical room equipment and processes
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment functionality and safety
- Troubleshoot and address equipment malfunctions or failures as needed
Labor Duties
- Perform labor duties as required to support the efficient functioning of the Aquatic area
- Assist with facility maintenance, cleaning, and other tasks as assigned
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all labor activities
Staff Coverage and Leadership
- Provide coverage to aquatic staff during absences to maintain uninterrupted service delivery
- Provide coverage for the Aquatic Supervisor as needed
- Provide guidance and support to staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Technical Expertise and Safety Compliance
- Maintain a thorough understanding of equipment operation and safety standards and requirements
- Apply superior technical knowledge to address operational challenges and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Assist in the implementation of corrective measures and preventive strategies to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment
Booking & Scheduling
- Assist in liaising between user groups and the Town of Hinton, assisting customers in defining needs and determining options
- Assist in troubleshooting scheduling conflicts and address customer requests and concerns
- Assist in ensuring efficient use of facilities and services by coordinating routine bookings, cancellations, and rescheduling
- Assist in development and maintenance of master operating schedules
Communications
- Liaise with the Communications Service Area to ensure consistent, accurate and effective communications with the public meet Town standards:
- Provide Service Area communications by developing and managing internal and external materials and messaging
- Provide back up Service Branch communications
- Create, design, review, and edit press releases, columns, e-newsletters, promotional materials, advertising, website content, and other communications
- Undertake website training and assist employees with website tasks; liaise with the Communications Service Area on topics such as media relations, public engagement, Council’s Strategic Plan as needed
Customer & Support Services
- Work lifeguarding or swimming instruction shifts as required
- Provide office support as required
- Assist in maintaining departmental administrative processes and systems
Financial Administration
- Provide administrative support to the Aquatic Supervisor for operating and capital budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with operating guidelines, policies, directives, and procedures
- Recommend changes to improve operational efficiency
