Key Responsibilities Include:
Parkland County has a Temporary, Full-time position available for an Agriculture & Environment Technician from approximately June to late December, 2022 with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Manager, Community Sustainability, the Agriculture & Environment Technician is responsible for conducting environmental site assessments, field surveys and desktop reviews of stewardship projects and County-owned properties. This position is responsible for collecting, entering, and analyzing data; and calculating KPIs for reporting on the County’s Alternative Land Use (ALUS) Program, the Environmental Compliance Program, and the Weed Control Program; as well as assisting with establishing, monitoring and maintaining demonstration sites or other field-based projects in restoration, naturalization, bioengineering and weed control. This position is also responsible for occasionally providing technical support on special projects. Additional duties of this position include writing material related to plan and policy updates, participating in administrative meetings, and performing various administrative tasks.
