The mission of the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) is to “empower its members through proactive leadership, strategic partnership, effective advocacy and collective business services”. RMA Business Services is one of Canada’s largest and most influential public sector buying groups. Under the banner head of Business Services, there are three longstanding business units: 1) RMA Trade incorporated in 1935, 2) RMA Insurance incorporated in 1955, and 3) RMA Fuel in business since 1996. Together these units offer products and services from over 120 approved suppliers; and represent over 2900 members across Canada, which accounts for a total purchasing power of over $200 million.
Note: This is a part-time, casual employment with a maximum of 12 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities Include:
The RMA is seeking an individual for a part-time, causal Administrative Support/Student position to work closely with the Business Services Coordinator on day to day activities. The individual will ensure all personal information is handled confidentially, all data is entered accurately into the database and filed appropriately in support of our regulatory compliance process. In addition, there is a strong focus on computer skills with the requirement to read, validate, extract and enter specific information into our database. Data comes from multiple sources internally as well as from external vendors and databases.
Proficiency in data entry
Accountable for database entries, validation of data for compliance, reporting and preparation of data and records
Create, review and validate data reports for accuracy and completeness
Gather information and retrieval of archived documents from various systems, folders and storage.
Access, update and upload files and forms
Electronic filing, handling and tracking of emails and phone messages
Type, Review and Edit of documents
Supporting the Administrative Coordinators
Provide vacation coverage for colleagues as required
Other related administrative duties as assigned

Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or related discipline or applicable work experience and training.

Able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated and self-directed.
Able to and enjoy working in a team environment including keeping others appropriately informed.
