Below are some valuable resources specifically of use to municipalities and members of RMA:
The Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC) provides funding, technical assistance, and education to support Alberta municipalities in addressing climate change by reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
The MCCAC is a partnership between the Government of Alberta, the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA), and Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA).
The Elected Officials Education Program (EOEP) is jointly owned and operated by the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) and the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA). The EOEP was formed in 2007 to provide Alberta’s municipal elected officials with professional development opportunities and ensure that they are well-positioned to serve their communities effectively.
The EOEP offers six courses on topics that are most relevant to elected officials. Each course has been developed by subject matter experts and adult learning specialists, to ensure that both course content and delivery methods reflect the fact that elected officials have limited time to dedicate to professional development.
Brownlee LLP is pleased to continue to offer its Municipal Helpline service as part of its continued commitment to municipalities, and the people that make them better.
The Insurance Institute, with its network of 21 provincial Institutes and local Chapters, is the educational arm of the property and casualty insurance industry, representing 36,000 individuals across Canada. Over 20,000 of those members are students and more than 15,000 are graduates who have earned the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation. They have been educating the industry since 1899.
