The Town of Athabasca is seeking a dynamic individual who is organized, innovative, knowledgeable in the Public Works field and have excellent people and management skills to fill the position of Public Works Superintendent.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Public Works Superintendent shall direct and coordinate the operations of Public Works and Utilities in accordance with guidelines, policies, plans and programs approved by the Chief Administrative Officer. They are responsible for the preparation of tenders or contracts in consultation with the Chief Administrative Officer. The Superintendent will assist the Chief Administrative Officer in the legislative decision-making process by providing all information, advice and guidance as required for all Public Works and Utilities projects. They shall keep informed about governmental and job-related affairs, standards, regulations and trends. The Public Works Superintendent is responsible for the preparation and submission of the Capital and Operating budgets for both departments in consultation with the Chief Administrative Officer.
