KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong investigative skills.
- Considerable knowledge of relevant bylaws, acts, legislation, regulations, and sound knowledge of court proceedings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clarify and convey information in a clear and concise manner.

- Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with the public in sensitive and sometimes confrontational situations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma in Law Enforcement, Planning, or related discipline, or graduation from an accredited Police Academy.
- Two (2) years of law enforcement or Peace Officer experience or two (2) years of planning/land use bylaw enforcement experience required.
- Completion of a Planning Law course or equivalent is an asset.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid Class Five (5) Operator’s License is required as incumbent will be required to operate a personal or municipal vehicle for business use on a regular basis.
- Must be willing to work outside in all conditions.
- Immunizations are strongly recommended for work in unsanitary conditions.
- Must be medically and physically able to perform all duties of the position on an ongoing basis.
- Ability to acquire and maintain an RCMP enhanced reliability security clearance is required.
