Responsible for coordination and preparation of Sturgeon County’s forecasted mill rate and assessment growth as part of the budget process.
Oversee the accurate preparation and maintenance of the County’s tax roll; importing assessment, tax sale and linear account collections.
Responsible to prepare tax and assessment information and presentation to Council to set the annual tax rate.
Responsible for the cash and treasury management.
Responsible for the County’s investment portfolio; maintain the guidelines of the MGA and the County investment policy with the goal of maximizing the rate of return with minimizing the risk.
Responsible for the administration of the bank and procurement card systems.
Oversee the timely reconciliation and maintenance of accounting sub-ledger and general ledger systems.
Responsible to coordinate, implement and support the financial applications in the information system.
Responsible to establish and conduct internal audits; measure and implement processes/procedures to satisfy audit requirements.
Provide overall financial planning and projections as required.
Bachelor’s degree and a CMA, CGA or CA and a minimum 5 years relevant accounting and supervisory experience;
Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, extremely detail oriented with figures, excellent mathematical skills, the ability to work in a team environment or independently, and excellent computer skills.
Leadership and interpersonal skills, able to mentor and coach with direct reports; strong public relation problem solving skills are required.
