The mission of the Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) is “Through the provision of advocacy, trade and insurance services, the RMA will assist rural municipalities in achieving strong and effective local government”. The RMA Business Services is one of Canada’s largest and most influential public sector buying groups. The Position The role of the administrative summer student is essential to the smooth operation of our organization. The ability to multi-task is essential. This position also requires someone who has the ability and initiative to work with all layers of the organization. Computer skills with Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook are needed along with the ability to use other pieces of office equipment such as a scanner, photocopier, and mail machine.
Candidates must qualify under STEP 2018 Summer Program; therefore, international and foreign student are not eligible.
The summer student must be registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis by Fall 2018.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Type, Review and Edit of documents
Preparation and Scanning documents
Supporting the Administrative Coordinators
Checking e-mail and phone messages daily
Provide vacation coverage for colleagues as required
Other related branch administrative duties as assigned
Organizational skills – a self-starter who can work independently and as part of an integrated team
Detailed oriented, energetic, and self-motivated
Strong work ethics
Exceptional organization skills with the ability to adjust to changing work priorities
Outgoing and effective team player who contributes to positive work environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience & knowledge with MS Outlook, Word and Excel
Enrolled in high school or a post-secondary institution that will result in a Certificate, Diploma or Degree.
The role requires a person that can multitask and who can work independently, with high attention to detail.
An individual that is enthusiastic and passionate towards learning new skills.
