At the City of Medicine Hat, we are committed to empowering our community with the knowledge and resources to stay safe in the face of emergencies and to promoting fire prevention and life safety awareness to ensure the well-being of our community members. As a Fire and Life Safety Educator, you will play a vital role in this mission in designing and implementing comprehensive fire safety and 911 education programs, conducting dynamic presentations and workshops, and utilizing various media platforms to disseminate critical information all tailored to diverse audiences, from children to seniors.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences of all ages.
- Knowledge of fire safety principles, evacuation procedures, and emergency preparedness best practices.
- Experience in developing educational materials and delivering training sessions preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Sound judgment, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to handle confidential or politically sensitive matters.
- Advanced skills in program development, multimedia use, and social media management.
- Ability to prioritize workload and perform tasks without direct supervision.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
