In the 2016 federal budget, the Government of Canada introduced a plan to invest $120 billion into infrastructure over the next ten years. The Government of Canada is
soliciting input from stakeholders and the public on how to allocate funding for phase 2 of the plan.
Phase 1 of the plan is currently underway, and includes the creation of public transit and water/wastewater funding for municipalities.
Phase 2 is more long-term in nature, and will likely involve funding into four broad areas:
