Select is excited to be working with the City of Lethbridge in their search for an Operations Compliance and Control Manager, which will manage the Control Centre for the Electric Utility Department. The successful candidate must have extensive compliance experience with Alberta Electric System Operators (AESO), Alberta Reliability Standards, and ISO rules. Must also have post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or Technology Management. Are you ready to dive in?
Key Responsibilities Include:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing, maintaining, and implementing an AESO Compliance Program; effectively communicating AESO and ISO rules/standards to the Utility
- Supervising, coaching, and providing direction for the Control Centre; ensuring staff have opportunities to expand knowledge
- Updating Electric Operations Manager on changes to regulations
- Supporting the development, implementation, and scheduling of maintenance programs to protect investments
- Determining priorities and acquiring resources
- Analyzing impacts of internal & provincial operational policies
- Participating in regulatory and government meetings
- Representing Lethbridge Electric Utility on committees and stakeholder sessions at the Provincial level
- Submitting reports and completing audits
- Assisting with budgeting
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- MUST have 5 – 7 years of experience in regulatory and compliance implementation
- Extensive knowledge of the rules, regulations, and policies that govern work being performed on the Electric Utility System
- Experience with CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection Compliance)
- Post-secondary in Electrical Engineering or Technology Management
- Ability to translate legal requirements into processes and policies
- Superior written and verbal communication skills; confident when addressing the corporation and the public
- Dedicated to professionalism and providing exemplary public service
- Strategic leadership and planning skills to fulfill current and future needs/expectations
Bonus Points For:
- Previous experience with SCADA system set-up and commissioning or industrial networking
Additional Job Information:
Salary Range: $100K - $145K
