Rate of Pay: $81,922 - $107,803 per annum

As a key member of Sturgeon County’s Human Resources Department, you will work primarily with their client group as the primary contact in the HR department for any issues or assistance related to human resources including coaching, consultation, support and advice, recruitment, and selection of seasonal and permanent employees, as well as advise on disability claims, performance evaluations, training and development within the client group.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitate the recruitment, selection and onboarding process for all positions within your client group.
- Responsible for conducting compensation reviews, market reviews, annual salary increases and responding to requests for comparative information from other municipalities.
- Manage short and long-term disability claims /leaves of absence in conjunction with our benefit provider.
- Provide support, coaching and HR expertise to employees and supervisors regarding HR legislation, policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide advice and expertise to managers and supervisors regarding ongoing performance management, including annual performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and progressive discipline. Facilitate the annual performance review process for your client group.
- Collaborate with Benefits Coordinator on Short- and Long-term disability claims/leave of absences in conjunction with benefit carriers. Working with department representatives to develop work accommodations for employees requiring modified work.
- Initiate, develop, coordinate and track corporate training initiatives.
- Assist with the development of the Human Resource Services Department business plan and provide human resource support and cooperation to other departments in their attainment of corporate goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management with a minimum of five (5) years of related HR experience.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, and HRIS systems are required.
- Eligible for membership with a human resource association and possess or working towards a CPHR or equivalent designation.
