The County of Northern Lights, Alberta is currently seeking a qualified, experienced person to assume the responsibilties of the Public Works South Road Supervisor.
Reporting to the Director of Public Works, this position is accountable for the Road Maintenance for the Southern half of the County of Northern Lights. This position is responsible for all aspects of maintenance and the supervision of County employees and contractors. As the direct supervisor of employees and contractors one must portray professionalism, equality, good judgment, leadership, and excellent inter-personal skills. Reports to this position include, but are not limited Equipment Operators, Maintenance Workers and Casual Labourer positions. The position will ensure that operational and capital budgets are prepared and controlled by overseeing items of revenue and expenditures.
The County of Northern Lights’ Municipal Office is located in the Town of Manning, Alberta and is 250 kms north of the City of Grande Prairie. This position operates out of the County’s south public works shop located in the Hamlet of Dixonville, approximately 50 kms from the Town of Peace River. The County boasts a vast region in northwest Alberta featuring such diversity as agriculture, oil and gas, tourism, and forestry.
